A lot of indoor plants to provide a great atmosphere. Our Cofounder being a well known musician in the city has deep knowledge of the local arts and cultural scene and will be easily available at the space to interact with and share concerns if any. Also, our hostel managers are seasoned travellers themselves and they understand the needs of backpackers. Our hostel has been designed by travellers, for travellers!
Our vision is to create a beautiful community space for travelers where people can get rest for their body and minds. You will love the tranquil environment both inside and out.
A Beatboxer, MC/Host, Artist Manager and Entrepreneur, Vincent first envisioned "The Meditating Monkeys" to be a space where travel could make it's way to him. After a recent solo trip across India, he was overwhelmed with the life lessons, travelling taught him. Realising that it was the people that made a place beautiful, he was inspired to create a space for fellow musicians, artists, creative people and travellers. A space where interesting people could live under one roof, break stereotypes, learn from each other and create positive vibes. A clean space which promotes healthy and clean lifestyles, clean food, a healthy body and a healthy mind.
Tabea came to Bangalore 4 years ago, volunteering in organisations and exploring the country. Since she couldn't get enough of India's beauty, she came back, this time to study and discover even more. Soon, it wasn't only India anymore that kept her fascinated. She met her future husband and started a family. With a 7 month old baby, the household tasks and managing The Meditating Monkeys, she feels like a full time mom that actually needs 10 more hours in a day to run everything the way she wants it to be. Nevertheless she is extremely glad that her family has so many more members as the hostel is a family project. For her it is a dream come true. To start something new with her husband and friends and to see her ideas actually manifest by creating a positive and community oriented space for fellow travelers who want to feel like home. She's excited about where this journey is going to get her this time.
A community space for travelers, artists, backpackers, organic farmers, just about anyone with an open mind and heart. Ananth's vision was to have a simple, minimalistic and clean community space that offered a bed and healthy breakfast to travellers visiting Bangalore. He found a partner to startup - in his wife Tabea and close friend Vineeth, and together they set out to create The Meditating Monkeys. The idea that we are citizens of "One World", should bring joy to our hearts, and the hostel was envisioned to promote this idea.
Ananth has several years of experience in hospitality, artist management, travel and tourism. He loves to travel, meet new people, explore, taste new food and all the other travel clichés. Ananth is also contemplative, self seeking and believes in the depth, warmth and limitless potential of the human heart.
Paulo, a Brazilian guy who has always dreamed of travelling to different places to meet new people and understand different cultures. For many years, he worked for large companies, but he realised that spending time in an office was not making him happy. He decided to vacation for 10 days out of his country back in October of 2014 and has not returned since. He is excited to be a part of the team at The Meditating Monkeys because working in and even starting a hostel fits perfectly into his traveller lifestyle. He enjoys martial arts, water sports, football and keeps looking forward to exploring new experiences and meeting interesting people. He really believes that The Meditating Monkeys is a great opportunity for doing just that.
